I'm staying with Maria and I have these weird bugs in this jar that I have to protect. I put the jar down on the floor and decide that I need to put all kinds of bright, pretty things around it so the bugs will be entertained. I put down this big plastic ladybugs and a bunch of those little red and green houses from a Monopoly game. As soon as I have everything arranged, Maria says she's tired and going to bed so she has to bring the dogs in. They run inside and so I get all panicky about saving the bugs.

I'm house sitting with Maria but it looks more like my house. There are these two guys living next door, about our age, and we don't like them and they don't like us. We get into some argument about something and later I'm in the laundry room. They can see me from one of their windows and they start yelling at me and trying to come over. Later I call them on the phone because we were supposed to meet but never did. I'm getting ready for bed and getting my stuff ready for the next day, and I have this plastic sandwich bag that has a bunch of food in it. In there are mostly some doughnuts but also half of what looks to be a ham-and-cheese sandwich. I throw that away but keep the rest. It's the next day and I have all of these people who want to see me all of a sudden, so I have some wait in this other room while I see one person at a time. It's just about to be this older woman's turn when these detectives show up. Something bad has happened to the guys next door and they want to talk to me and to Maria. Maria is hesitant about cooperating with them but I go ahead because I know I didn't do anything wrong. They take some scrapings from underneath my fingernails and the woman detective (there's one man and one woman) also gets a list of all the transactions I've made in my checking account for the last month and matching them with my bank statement. There is one on the statement she didn't see on my list, one that was a check for 25.20 for my hairdresser. Later, after the detectives leave, I get this parcel in the mail from my hairdresser. There is this poster, mostly blue and white with red text, for an event called "I Insult." It's this thing where they choose a person who has done something really stupid and then they find everyone that person knows, and you go and make fun of them. The one I receive is for John. Also on the poster, my hairdresser listed some open appointment times that she had in case I wanted to call her. I'm out with Maria and her mom because we were watching Zeus and Apollo, but they had escaped and were running around town, fighting. We meet up with the dogs at some drive-thru for a fast food restaurant and I try to hold on to Apollo but he's all squirmy and they're fighting so I have to let go. Maria has some invention that you point at someone or something, and it can make an exact copy of it, so she points it at the dogs, and she has two new ones. I point this out to the dogs who are now confused.
july 8
I'm at home and in the bathroom. I flush the toilet and the stuff goes down but the toilet makes this weird noise that I can hear, even though the bathroom fan is on. Everything doesn't go down so I flush the toilet again, but this time it overflows and blood starts spilling everywhere, all over the bathroom floor, and some even seeps into the hallway. I tell my mom about it and she makes me clean it up because it's making her sick. My family is staying over at my grandma's and I get the big, back room all to myself and practically everyone else is sharing a room. I go into the living room and everyone is watching TV. I have somehow gotten on TV, naked (I was only shown from behind) and so everyone starts calling me "rubber butt." I'm with Maria and Michelle, and we go to Olive Garden for lunch. They have to go see their boss in the middle of the meal for some reason, so we all leave. When we get back, the waiters put a table for us in some weird, dark foyer in the center of the restaurant. Michelle and Maria are talking about their boss, something about how he wouldn't listen to them or was being unreasonable. We get back what was left of the food we didn't eat, and I have spaghetti and just a few pieces of lettuce wrapped up in a napkin. Michelle hadn't eaten any of her salad and she was complaining that it was all gross. Then one of the waiters brings out what is either this big piece of chicken or fish, and he tells us that it will be good for us to eat, being that it has a lot of fat in it because its pregnant (???) I'm with Maria in her house and we're talking about and petting her dog. I'm back at my grandma's and in "my" room, and getting ready to take a shower. My brother comes and unlocks the bedroom door (he didn't come in) because he just wanted to bother me. Still being dressed, I go out there to yell at him and find everyone is brining in presents for me from the garage. My family is back at home and my dad is going into the bathroom, and he sprays this gross air freshener in the hallway and into my room. To get back at him, I go around spraying the Ohm Jasmine and Rose body spray I have.

These other people and I are involved in this contest where we hole up in a house for a long time, and we can't talk to our families. So we're in the house and practically everyone has relatives coming over, and I keep turning them away at the door. Someone asks me why and I say "Wouldn't you not talk to your family for awhile so you could win lots of money?" I can't control everyone so there's all these people, and these guys working on one of the houses next door threaten to tell the TV people about us. I am in the house and I start breaking out in hives. Then I'm outside in the backyard with the contest people, and we have some dog that is eating all this food he had hidden under ground. I'm with my sister at my grandmother's house and one of those water delivery guys comes by and he is really cute. I'm out driving somewhere, some highway in the middle of nowhere, and I end up getting arrested. I think it's a funny story to tell everyone when I get home but then they put me in this jail, and we have to do a bunch of outside work. I end up with about five or six other prisoners and we each get a shovel and a pick that have a letter (mine is A) and we have to dig up as many potatoes as we can from the ground. I break into the ground with a pick and then use the shovel to dig with, and I practically sink into the ground. This guy tells us that we might get an infection from this certain kind of worm that the ground seems to be filled with. It is gross and so I look away as I dig my hands in and put these potatoes to the side. Pretty soon I have a big pile of both potatoes and another pile of oranges.

I'm walking somewhere with Mark and we pass by this alley where this guy pops out of nowhere. He's smoking this cigarette and blows all this smoke at us, and when he sees me he wants to burn me with his cigarette. I start crying and trying to run off and end up trapped in this kind of alley. Mark is trying to get me to calm down and wants me to just let the guy burn me, but I am really freaked out because I think it will hurt bad. I'm sitting down on the ground and suddenly notice that I'm bleeding. When the smoking guy sees he's suddenly all nice and sits down next to me, trying to help me.
july 15
I'm out walking with my mom and my brother. We stop by this one house randomly because the family had lived across the street from one of my cousins for a long time. We go in and it's these three or four little girls, their baby brother, and their mom. The mom is at this desk working on stuff and the girls are running around. They have all of these weird strings connecting them so I get scissors and cut the strings so they can move around from each other. I ask the mom where to put the scissors and she points to a table and says "Next to the job applications." There is this stack of applications because she's looking for a babysitter. I put the scissors down and we leave, being careful not to let the baby boy out because he's walking around. We continue the walk and much further down, we run into Dana, her mom, and some other people. They are all involved in some race so I'm tagging along. Her mom's shoe is untied so I have her stand on one leg while I tie the other shoe. I'm having a really hard time tying it and then I keep trying to secure it with a safety pin. We're holding them up in the race so Dana is getting annoyed at me. I'm at home and looking at this binder I have in my room, because it has lists and descriptions of a bunch of these "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" episodes I've never seen.

I'm housesitting with Maria, but the place we're at is this trailer in the middle of nowhere. It's kind of scary. The people who live there come home early - a man, his wife (who is bitchy and an Avon saleswoman) and some other man. There are these weird stairs that lead up into the trailer, and they can close up. The woman makes me close the steps up after everyone is inside, and I have to hang out of the doorway all weird to do it. I'm at a school because there's this volunteer program I am going to participate in, because Dana was one of their regulars but had to do something so she asked me to go in her place. I get there and there's a whole bunch of kids, and they separate into teams, and the volunteers are the leaders. I ask some guy which group to go with, and he tells me the first one. He points out one of the little (well not little... 12 or so) girl and tells me I should spray her, because he thinks she has lice and he doesn't want me to get it. I don't want to get lice either but I don't want to embarrass her so I consider spraying myself so the lice won't be attracted to me. I'm with my group and we're ?making a poster? and they keep asking me why Dana isn't there, and when I think about it, I have no idea.
july 18
I'm at school and talking to Gwen. It's the morning. This old man comes up and asks me if we aren't going to class soon. I think that he's going to start flirting with us so I say that we need to go because our class starts at 8, after I look at my watch and see it's 7:55. He gets defensive and say he doesn't care, that he didn't ask. Gwen and I start to walk to class, and all of a sudden there are a lot more people around. We have a PE class and it's the first day, and I realize that I sold my combination lock at the yard sale so I have to get a new one. Everyone in the class is racing from two different directions to get to these bleachers, and I sit on the very top row, with Gwen sitting in front of me on the next row. I'm in the backyard with a bunch of people. Bo is still alive but he's sick so this famous vet comes to help us, and he gives him a big purple pill and a big pink pill. I can see he's starting to feel better already so I go put new food in his bowl and fresh water in his bucket. My dad has a bunch of animals he's keeping but they're on the other side of the fence. They are getting restless and the fence is partly broken so I start to panic. The animal in the front is a giraffe, and he's wearing this pair of thick-rimmed, black glasses. The animals break the fence down and start to come into the yard, and to relax them I start humming the "Here Comes the Bride" song. The animals come towards me two-by-two, and when they get right in front of me, they turn into people. When they are all human we go inside and into the living room to watch a movie. There is a dark-colored vase in the living room with a bunch of towels stacked on the top of it, and some of them touch it as they walk by. They all settle down to watch a movie and I go to the bathroom. There is a magazine rack between the toilet and the tub, and I see that the only things on it are 5 copies of TV Guide. They are all the same edition, but 4 of them are missing their covers. The one that still has the cover is the same picture on the "Child's Play" video so I am creeped out. Dana and I are hanging out and driving to some restaurant. I am sitting in the backseat. We both have bottles of water; hers is a small cute one, and mine is the regular size Crystal Geyser.

I go to some store with my mom and brother. In the middle, there is this staircase that goes up. My brother climbs up halfway and says something about it being the weird or scary place [It turns out to be this haunted house I've dreamed about a few times before]. So we are scared but we go up. All of the lights on the second floor are off and we just walk around looking at nothing in particular. Then we go up to the third floor and it is very bright, all of the lights on and everything. In one bedroom, there is some brunette girl lying on a bed and watching TV (cartoons maybe). It turns into our house and it's like we're up in the attic. We get down, bringing some stuff with us... some papers with green glitter all over them. I go into the dining room and tell my mom that we (my brother and I) are never going up there again, and she asks if we mean until we go up to get more stuff before we move, or not even then. It's eight or nine at night, and we have ordered food earlier but my brother is going to order something from Angelo's so I think about getting something too, like maybe hot wings even though I don't like them much. So I am looking at my money and trying to figure out how much it would cost and how much I would have to tip the delivery guy.
july 23
I'm out on the highway with some girl who is driving way too fast. We pass by a speed limit sign that says 30, but she is going at least 80 or maybe more. Finally I tell her to stop, to pull over, and I start to drive myself. Then it changes into this weird obstacle course where you have to walk over these weird, big thing on the ground, with one leg on each side. First it's still on the highway then it changes to my backyard and it's some kind of contest. I am right behind Maria and Rose. I get annoyed so I step away and just walk around it. We're over by the shed and we run into Mr. Spelling and talk to him for a few minutes, but still no one catches up. At the very end you have to jump into this swimming pool that is about two feet high, five feet long, and three feet wide. After that I go and I put my clothes in the dryer because I have to go out later. I'm around town and I find my mom waiting in line to get into a video store. She apparently thinks I am going to pay for it, and I don't want to tell her that I have only 20-ish dollars and I want her to get the videos and I'll get some pizza. I'm staying in Berkeley over a long weekend for some kind of special trip and a bunch of my friends are there too. Somehow I end up hanging out with Christina Aguilera but pretty soon I get tired of her because she's always been mean and playing tricks on people. Finally I tell her off and leave. I walk three blocks away to what looks like Pitt. I see one of my uncles by a tree in the quad, hanging up a pinata. Near him is Gwen, who is just standing there and smoking a cigarette. I finally get to Maria, who is smoking and just hanging out, and I tell her about all the Christina drama. Rose comes along too and we meet up with Dana. We all have a lot of money so we're sitting in some backyard and talking about all of the fancy places we're going to go to eat. I need to get up to go to the bathroom, and Dana gives me an empty dish to take into the house, which belongs to none other than Christina Aguilera and her parents. Dana tells me that Christina is mad and is never going to leave me alone from now on. She says Christina's made some dish she's going to try to get me to eat, some kind of salsa with a lot of tomatoes and that it will have dirt in it. As I go in I think to myself, "I'll tell her that I'm allergic to tomatoes." I don't see her on the way up to the bathroom so I think I'm safe. I'm in the bathroom for a really long time, but I don't realize it until I look at my watch. I had gotten in there around 2 but it is now 3:46. I check my cell phone to see if anyone has called but they haven't. I start rushing and try to leave the house. I have to run down three flights of stairs (spiral) and then across the house. I pass by Christina's parents and they're angry at me for something, so the dad chases me down another three flights of spiral stairs. I don't know what happens, but several months go by. I'm walking down the street and Maria calls me on my cell phone, but she is trying to disguise her voice because she doesn't want to get threatened for talking to me. I am over by West Blvd. and I stop by the first few apartments, and I see this man with all of his teenage kids. All of the girls look the same, with long, red-pinkish hair and the same lipstick. Something about some court case that I won against Christina Aguilera (??) is the reason that they're identical, so that parents won't be able to choose a favorite kid.

I'm in my room and I get a call on my cell phone from a guy who is one of Maria's ex-boyfriends (named Mike). He asks me if I want to hang out so I'm say all right even though I look all blah. He says something about going to San Francisco but I decide not to tell my mom because it will make her nervous. I get dressed and go out to the living room just as he gets there. He has this fancy-looking black car, and he drives but for some reason I sit in the back seat. We wind up at this restaurant where we on a double date with Maria and some guy she's seeing now. There is all of this chaos at the restaurant so we decide to just seat ourselves and wait for the waiters. We get this weird, kind of macaroni shaped booth with room for only three people, and a chair on one side for the other person. I end up the one in the chair with Maria's date to my right, Mike in the middle, and Maria on my left. I tell all three of them that I want to play footsie with Mike but I have to maneuver my foot all weird under the table and first I accidentally play footsie with Maria's date. We leave the restaurant and Mike drives me home. For some reason I am getting all nervous wondering whether he is going to give or send me any flowers. Then I somehow find out that he knew either part of my pin number (for my ATM card) or part of my SSN so I was getting paranoid.
july 25
Rose comes over to my house and she has a yearbook from LMC with her. I am really confused because I want one, but I think that you have to have paid already and be on the bookstores list, and I haven't paid anything. She says no, and that if I get one she wants to see it (they're individualized?) She starts looking through hers right away to look for pictures of this band that is playing out in my front yard. It's these two guys, the dark-haired one who is the singer (that I have a crush on) and the blond one who is the drummer. The drummer has this big pile of drumsticks on the ground next to him that he keeps picking up because he'll use one just once and then throw it up into the air, so they're littered all around the yard. I'm with Dana and we decide to go visit Pitt because summer school is going on. We get around to this weird side room and I don't know who the teacher is, so I don't go in at first. Then I see it's Mr. Spelling so I go in and we talk for a couple of minutes. His class is doing a test or something. He leaves for a few minutes and soon after he leaves, a couple of nurses come by and ask for him. I say he isn't back yet and ask if I can help them with anything. They say yes so I get up to go with them. I have this youngish girl (7 or 8) that I'm supposed to be watching and I ask Dana if she can watch the girl, and she says yes. Once, the little girl tries to follow me out but I put her back in the room. Then she does it again and I know she's maybe five feet behind me but I don't do anything because I now know that I am inside a movie and if anything happens, she's not really getting hurt. I follow the nurse around (all of the hallways are really dark) and stop by this sink so that I can wash my hands. I take a really long time doing it. Now I'm no longer there, but watching the hospital movie with my mom at home. It's at the end and part of the hospital gets blown up, and they show that moment happening over and over again with different places, and the different characters, and it's really sad. I'm talking to my grandma and she's telling me how she's going to miss us when we move, and in which order she'll miss us (that is, who she'll miss the most, and the least). I'm with my mom, brother and sister at this weird meeting in one of the house models. My brother and I are arguing over who gets which computer desk. It looks kind of like a cafe and we're done so we get up to leave. My mom is saying that we'll have to put sheets over all of our windows until we move in because otherwise it won't be safe and people will try to break the glass. My brother and sister disappear and now it's just me and my mom. She is wearing this really cool leather jacket. She goes with me because I want to go visit Pitt again, but when I get there it is more like Hillview so I am confused. I'm trying to climb up these concrete steps so I can get in, but I am having a hard time. There are a bunch of people running around, and the steps are all cracked and small and weird and I keep almost falling over. I'm at home and in the backyard. There is someone that I need to save in the ocean, and the ocean is just past the side of the shed. I am with this mad-scientist looking guy so we run back there. This doll pops up out of nowhere but I just throw it off and keep struggling to get to the ocean.

I'm at some grocery store with Rose and we're waiting for this girl who works there to finish her shift so we can go hang out. It's Halloween. While we're waiting, we have to write these stories based around one sentence that some teacher (?) gave us. I write my story about a flood that came to a town, but none of the people panicked or got upset. They just waited until it got close enough and then they walked calmly out into the water and drowned. I paste the story around this jar as a label (with the story on the inside, so you have to finish what's in the jar to read it) and then put some Halloween candy. The girl who works at the grocery store (she was in charge of keeping the carts organized) also wrote one, and she, Rose and I all give one to this guy who works there. The shopping cart girl has a huge crush on him. I'm at home and in the kitchen when the phone rings. My mom answers it and she asks if the person is calling from a cell phone. They must say yes because she gets annoyed. She hands me the phone and it's Mark, calling from work. We talk for a long time. The four of us (me, Mark, Dana and Maria) are back in astronomy. We have all gotten in trouble for goofing off. Something about jumping out of this transom above the door, and something about a turban. We have to sit in the hallway, but soon I go in and ask the teacher if I can sit in there because I can't do my work on the ground. She says all right so I come back in and sit down and hurriedly do the assignment - we have to draw a picture of a phone but for some reason mine also looks like a clock:
I'm somewhere with Dana and she's going through her backpack or purse and there are a bunch of bracelets I've given her. I'm in the living room and my dad is talking to me about furniture for my new bedroom. He seems to want to give me less or more expensive stuff depending on what I'm going to be doing (job, school, etc). He asks me if I'm going to go back to high school and I think it's a dumb idea. He mentions something about giving me a couple of hundred dollars to hide from him in the fall so he won't spend it. I'm walking with these three girls towards my house and we see lots of dogs all over. Some of them bark at us and one of them suddenly starts following us. We get scared so we go into some random building, into the bathroom. There is some blond girl already in there (wearing a striped shirt I think). The four of us who had been walking suddenly start hallucinating all this weird, scary stuff and start screaming and cussing so the blond girl leaves. The four of us get back to my house and we're still all crazy. One of the girl mentions that she talked to someone, who wants to get us on the Dr. Phil show to see what's wrong with us. I say something about his son being really hot. Then I'm alone and lying on my parents bed, just looking up at the ceiling. I get really angry at something and then I start using telekinesis and move things around the room with my mind.
july 30
I am waiting for Rose and her mom to come pick me up because Rose and I are going to the Olive Garden. I am trying not to eat at home because there is all this yummy food from some party. I get distracted so I'm not quite ready when Rose and her mom finally arrive. It is raining outside. Instead of a purse I'm just using the little purple pouch I usually use for makeup stuff. Rose and I go to the movies and we are sitting in the front center, but move because these people sit next to us and we don't like them. We move into these weird seats in the back, on the left side. Everyone in the theater is talking and carrying on really loud. I'm with Maria and we have some math class together. She leaves her seat for a few minutes to go to the bathroom, and while she's gone some bitchy girl named Kristen or Kirsten takes her seat. I leave for a minute too and when I come back, Kristen/Kirsten is just about to pry into my purple pouch. So I take it back and we have now separated into groups to do some weird architecture assignment. I end up in a group with the teacher and this blond girl. The girl and I have to figure out the area of different shapes, and I only get one - a parallelogram - done because I'm having a really hard time remembering formulas. I am some man who is an unofficial suspect in a murder (I don't know if the police know about it, but a lot of people do, and think that I did it). I've found some way to prove it wasn't me so I drive (I have a yellow car) over to what is my ex-girlfriends house (she broke up with me because she thought I did it. She has a red car). There are so many cars around that I have to park on the sidewalk, which is very wide. I get out of my car and I have the murder weapon (a knife) with me so I bring it with me and my ex-girlfriend starts yelling. Then I keep saying that I can prove I didn't do it, and we walk around her house, kind of doing a re-enactment of what happened that night. I turn into myself and she and her family disappear, and my family is there. Rose and I are in charge of solving a murder mystery, so we say we have to get everyone together inside the house. So everyone in the front yard goes in, and the adults find some glass that some little kid has peed in. Inside, it is my grandmas house. I go in one bedroom and find two of my cousins, who are ?playing cards? They don't want to help but finally I convince them so they come out. I go into the garage and there is just one dark-haired guy there. He is not related to us, I think he might be someone's boyfriend but I can't think of who it would be. We start talking and decide to play Uno. He seems really bummed out, and gets even more depressed when he finds a blank card because he thinks it means something bad will happen to him. I say I have one too, that he doesn't have to worry. He kind of puts his head down on the table so I start rubbing his neck and I want to say that he doesn't have to talk to me but if he wants to he can, but I'm afraid that someone will hear me and think I'm trying to steal him (there are a lot of people in the garage now). Finally everyone gathers in the living room and we watch the video that has the mystery we have to solve on it. It's from a TV show, like America's Funniest Home Videos, except every clip is of people dying. They all seem to be related to Christmas (and especially Christmas trees). The first one is of a guy who falls over the side of the balcony, but he's held up by a branch of a Christmas tree, and I'm not sure how he dies but he does. The second one is this girl who gets one eye all shot out with a nail gun because she was hiding in the middle of a Christmas tree. The third has to do with this weird metal Christmas tree sculpture, and this guy and his daughter are standing in the middle of it. Someone puts the last pole in (from the top I guess) and it gets shoved through the guy's eye and out the back of his head. His blood splatters all over the face of his daughter, and I can't tell if she's dead with her mouth open or if she's singing. All of the videos are making me upset because after they show each one, the audience laughs. The very last video, which is the mystery I think we have to solve, doesn't show the deaths. It shows this big group of people, wearing these weird blue-greenish white-speckled outfits (and matching caps), dancing around and singing.
