I didn't kill this man, but somehow I have his decapitated head, and this other guy finds out about it. To make him think it's some weird Halloween decoration, I put a bunch of rocks in a slow cooker, put the head on top, and carry it around with me so the guy can't get a good look at it. He's following me around (I'm at the house in Pittsburg) and so I go into the front yard and throw the slow cooker and everything inside as far down the street as I can. It goes pretty far. The end of the street curves up into a hill and I'm relieved when the head goes over the other side, until three police officers (two men, one woman) come from the other side. I make a move to run into my house but can't do it fast enough. I'm talking to one of the male police officers. He has light brown hair and a mustache. We're having a conversation about whether I should be allowed to drive myself to the station, and I just don't want to ride with him because I won't like the music he'll play.

Maria and I are on a doubledate. We're at a restaurant and while waiting for our food we're playing ping-pong on our table. We don't have any paddles so we have to use our hands. I'm at home and my mom has made what are supposed to be tamales but they look really weird. They're these small circles of dough with cheese sprinkled on top. She's made two batches and one of them didn't come out right, and where the dough should be is just flour.

We're in the house in Pittsburg. There's a fire and so I run outside. I remember the puppies and go back in and call them. Besides the two there are these truly tiny puppies that also come out. When the fire is over we all just go back inside. My mom is angry at me because she thinks I'm responsible for the fire, that I have something in my room that started it. She wants to search my room and finally I agree. First we have to clean up because there is laundry (not just my own) absolutely everywhere. I'm in Costco with some guy, and we're using a computer to look at different websites. I'm really interested in one that's selling Barbie stuff at a discount. Maria shows up and we just walk around. She says hi to these three tough looking girls who are sitting on a bench, and they make fun of her. We're leaving and I have to get my shoes and purse because I've left them on top of a filing cabinet. Maria is all the way on the other side of the parking lot and I have to hurry to catch up. There is an ambulance that races by. When I reach Maria, she's near a Schwan's truck. The driver isn't in there. The three girls from inside come out because they plan to rob the driver when he gets back. These government agents are hiding a guy in a van. They were doing experiments on him similar to the ones done in Firestarter. The man's hands keep catching on fire. At first all of the government agents wear gloves until they realize he can't hurt them. I'm out somewhere and I need to use the bathroom. I find one but I don't want to go in, because I keep seeing girls open the door and then immediately close it and say it's really disgusting. I go over to see Rose and ask to use her bathroom. She is really upset because someone keeps telling her that she can't do something.

It's election day again and I'm working at Pitt, where I am apparently still a student also. My team goes to this one classroom but we have to wait until 8:30 to start working (we also have to vote, ourselves). I didn't bring my voter card but I have my ID so I think it will be okay. I'm sitting at the table with my team, and one of the girls has a book. I ask her what it is, and she says it's the same as the one I'm reading. The jacket does look the same, but her book is thicker and smaller, so I open it up. The text is completely different. She's embarrassed that she lied but I just laugh. Before starting work, we all have to do a test, and I'm the last one to do mine. One of the tests is looking into this deep pot, filled with just a few inches of water, and following the movement of objects in there (small trucks, cars) with our eyes. Another test is following these interwoven cracks on the floor. I tell my teacher that I really don't understand the purpose of that test, and her guess is to make sure we can figure out how to get somewhere quickly. I've given her a present (a small toy car) and I guess she's not sure if she's allowed to accept it but she does anyway. It's later on that day, and we're watching a movie, also about an election. Mo Rocca and Bill Paxton are in it, and Bill Paxton is kind of weird like he was in Frailty. One of the major issues in the movie has to do with their local railroad. I'm walking around school, trying to find this weird, secret hangout. I find where you have to climb in, which is through this window near the bottom of the building. There is this huge bag of beans nearby, and two big snakes come out of it. One of them is talking to me and wants to sit on my shoulders and around my neck, but I'm completely freaked out and just keep screaming until I get away.

I'm going back to high school, apparently at Deer Valley, and it's close enough for me to walk. I'm having a hard time seeing because I keep taking my glasses off and putting them on again. As I'm crossing the street, two or three cars race right through the crosswalk. I get to the school and I have no idea where my classes are. I end up near room 56 and I see a bunch of kids with video cameras. Somewhere behind them, I see Mr. Bailey, so I try to hide from him. I'm talking to the teacher, a woman, in room 56 and she tells me that she made an audiotape for new students to listen to because of mistakes on the school map. I'm walking around and I run into Mr. Bailey so we talk for a few minutes. He says he heard about me coming back to school and he has to get used to the idea. I get to room 20, which is supposed to be my third-period english class. I get inside and the room has a bunch of long tables, all full with students. I go to the teacher, who has this small boat made out of popsicle sticks. She tells me we're supposed to be writing poems about how relaxing the ocean is.
march 9
I'm at the store and this weird old man is robbing it. He's trying to make everyone participate, and he chooses me to write down everything that happens. We go to choose a notebook, and I have to wear this robe that has a pouch attached to the belt. I have to keep the notebook in the pouch. At the store, another girl there has the same purse as I do. She's with her sister and her niece, and I don't like her. Everytime she walks by I try to protect my purse because I think she wants to switch them. I'm driving and at first I don't see the cop car behind me because my steering wheel is positioned weird, and then he pulls me over (next to this weird, old gas station). The girl from the store is pulled over also. We start arguing, calling each other names, and almost get into a fight. I get to leave first and I rush home, worried that she's going to follow me. I'm at home and there is a burgular who thinks he's killed me, but I'm just pretending to be dead so he'll leave me alone. I have to stay under this blanket, but I'm really uncomfortable (I'm lying on a couch) and I keep moving around. Finally I get upstairs to this weird, scary room that looks like a room in a crappy motel. I turn the light in the room off so no one will get suspicious, but it keeps turning itself back on. Finally I get to come out. Rose has bought this really cute, weird stuffed animal (it had wings like a bat but it looked more like a sloth) from eBay. It turns out the sale isn't really final yet, so we have to watch the auction, and luckily at the very last minute we win.
march 14
I'm at aerobics class and we're supposed to be watching this video and exercising along with it. I think it's too hard so I'm just sitting there. Gina is there too. It's the last class and for her exam this girl has to do a weird dance around this pole. Class ends and Gina and I are the first ones out. We end up on the first floor of LMC and the Jeep is parked right next to a classroom. I see some guy I went to high school with and we talk for a minute. Then Mr. Bailey is there, wearing this cap and some gloves. He asks me if I have a good quality microphone because he has to do some presentation. He says that he went to Paris and it was so cold. Gina and I are running through this field. It's hard for me because I have on these big boots and I'm wearing a long skirt that I have to hold up when I jump over things. We get to the back of the field and it turns into someone's backyard. Gina and I are sitting with two girls. I'm supposed to have sex with a few different guys and the first one gets there so we leave. When I'm walking away I realize I left my purse behind, and I hope the girls watch it for me. The guy and I go through my garage and we agree that he'll pay for the hotel and I'll buy the condoms. We take this shortcut through this cafeteria in some university, and end up in a lingerie store. He finds this Betty Boop thong he thinks I'll like but I think it's really ugly.
march 26
I drive out to Pittsburg for the sole intention of taking a walk around my own neighborhood. I have one of the puppies with me. I'm walking over by these apartments and I see a car stopped in the middle of the street. It's Maria's car and she and her boyfriend are just sitting there talking. She says, "Hey, what are you doing out here?" We decide to hang out so we get Dana and all go to this weird little record store. It has a room in the back that we can lounge around in. We get there and the guy who runs the record store (he's not that much older than we are) says we can't stay, and we especially can't have animals there (besides my dog, there is another little puppy that I thought lived in the record store). I've got to get home and I'm not sure how I'm going to keep both dogs in control while I drive, but then my sister is there so I figure she can hold on to at least one of them.
march 28
My mom sends me to the store to get some stuff. She lists several things and I don't write it down, so all I remember is Gatorade and bottled water. When I go to get into the car, there is this huge bee flying around, in and out the windows, so I have to climb in through the passenger side, start the car, roll up the windows and then get in the drivers seat. At first, I'm at the store with my dad, and we're in the express lane because I just want to get one bottle of water (I'm thirsty). The person in the front of the line takes forever. Then I'm at the store with a girl I seem to know from high school, and I have to mail a letter. The cashier tells me this guy walking by (an employee) can take it but I don't trust him so I hold on to it. The girl with me gets her diploma from the cashier and we leave. There are some mailboxes outside, so we walk over to one. By the time we get there its in this room with a bunch of insurance people at different booths. The mailbox is just a plain cardboard box that you can easily take things out of, but I put the letter in there anyway. We're going to the car and I'm talking about the girls ex-boyfriend, and then I remember that he's dead. I'm at Dana's house, talking to her and her parents. Her mom tells me I have a big piece of popcorn stuck to my teeth, so Dana lets me borrow one of her toothbrushes. She has the same kind of Tweety Bird sweatshirt as my sister. Rose is here and I'm driving her home, which is apparently in Brentwood. It's really bright outside and it's kind of hard for me to see, and I accidentally run through a stop sign. When we get to her house, it looks like my grandma's house. We (Rose and both of our moms, and our grandma) are all sitting around the table eating chips. It's this mixed bag that has both potato and tortilla chips, and the tortilla chips are all different colors.
march 31
My family is having a party at our house, but it looks like my grandparent's house. Dana and Maria are there, and we're hanging out in the backyard. My mom tells me the food is ready so we go inside to get some. There are french fries, bread, these weird looking english muffins, and pasta. We're back outside eating, and they are talking about going to a concert after the party. I either don't know or don't like the band and say that I'm not going to go. After awhile, I go into the garage to get some sodas and when I come back out, they're gone. My mom tells me that they left an hour ago. I go into the front yard, and they're in Dana's car. Maria and Mark are sitting in the back seat. I remind them that I wasn't going to go to the concert and Maria says, "Well, then I'm not going to go either," and starts to get out of the car. I convince her to go and have fun, that I have a project I should be working on. The three of us are hanging out again and eating nachos. Dana is telling us about how she went to Pitt and all of this gossip. She says there are two new teachers (a pharmacist and a fertility expert) who are playing matchmaker and fixing up other teachers to go on dates. We're watching a local dating show, and they have two people who went to LMC on. They're at a restaurant, and someone from another table asks the girl if she has any cigarettes he can have. She asks her date and he thinks it's her who wants the cigarettes, and decides he doesn't like her. Another date they show is with this guy who shows his date this weird trick he does, of eating about a dozen grapes and olives all at once. Then I'm on the show myself, and my date and I are going to a party at his ex-girlfriends house. There are a lot of people there. Her parents don't want anyone going in through the front door, so we have to climb up this weird ladder leading into her second-floor bedroom. I am really nervous because there is a gap between the ladder and the open space, but I make it through. Then we have to climb a set of stairs into her room. The ladder and the stairs and hallway are all painted this maroon-ish color. It changes and my date is this girl who has her hair in a really long braid. I'm at home and my parents are saying that the new house still seems to small for all of us, so they are going to find a bigger one, and we'll rent this one out. They say there might be a transition period where we have to live back in the Pittsburg house. I'm listening to music with someone and they say, "Shh, listen." It's the last track on the CD, and at the very end there is this weird message under the music. It's this woman saying, "I'm 5 and my dad is 55. I'm 40 and my dad is 30."
