I'm with Dana, Mark and another girl (who has dark hair and a blue backpack) at Pitt. It's our senior year and we're all doing these fun activities. We're on our way to watch a movie, and on the way we pass by all the popular kids, who are having underclassmen carry them in their chairs so they don't have to walk. I give them dirty looks. In the movie theater, I sit in a row with Mark, one seat between us, and Dana and the other girl sit in the row in front of us with a bunch of other people. The movie is starting when the whole place starts shaking like an earthquake is going on. An announcement comes on that since nothing can be done about the shaking, they're going to just keep playing the movie. Dana and I say "This is bullshit!" and we all leave the theater. I'm holding her and the other girl's backpacks and have to ask them over and over to take them since I also have my own. They finally do and Dana says I'm whining. I get separated from them and end up in what looks like Wal-Mart. The earthquake is still going on. I run back into the hallway to find them. Some distant family is visiting my family, and they are all really annoying. There's the parents and two kids, a girl who is about 10 and the boy who is maybe 6. When it's time to leave, the mom tells them to use the bathroom before they leave. I'm talking to Rose in the backyard and the little boy comes and stands near us, and pees on my leg a little bit. I freak out and run into the house to clean up and change. In my bedroom, I keep hearing people in the hall outside and think they're going to come in, so I keep holding my hands against the door as I change. When I come out, everyone who was visiting has gone. I'm watching a movie about this guy who gets a call from his ex-wife, who's being held hostage by her new boyfriend. The man agrees to go to the house (in Pittsburg) and take the new boyfriend money to let the ex-wife go. This is a movie I've seen before, and I know that it's a trick the new boyfriend is using to get the guy there and beat him up. The guy's sitting in his car (a white convertible) in the driveway, money in a duffel bag next to him, and he changes his mind and drives away. It changes to where I'm there too, in the passenger seat. We're heading towards Antioch and I'm on the lookout for the boyfriend's red car. I think I see it so we go really fast and down a whole bunch of back roads. We end up in a restaurant in downtown Antioch, and in this part of the movie the guy usually gets caught after stealing a woman's purse, because he stops to use the restroom. I tell him not to this time and we get away with the woman's purse. We have it wrapped up in brown paper and sitting in the back seat. As we drive off, I'm moving the steering wheel while the guy controls the gas and brake. We end up on W Street and we park, talking and laughing about what we did. This guy who is a vicious drug dealer comes over and starts threatening us. I start crying and say he can have the car and we won't identify him to the police if he just lets us walk away alive. He does and we run off. Now we have another woman with us, who is a cop and wearing her uniform, but she isn't helping us. We go by my grandmother's house and I tell her all about what happened, but she doesn't seem concerned. Later we're talking with the policewoman's boss, and he goes through a bag of our stuff from earlier. There's an orange heroin needle wrapped up in a newspaper, and the police boss looks angry at me though I insist that it belonged to the drug dealer and not us. We are all happy because we can use it to find him. I'm working at an office with another woman, and there's lots of art in the hallway like a gallery. We go down all these twisting hallways, trying to find the original piece of art bought. We do, and it says it's been there since the 70's. The boss comes along and we're talking to him about that, and about these bins of beads in a supply closet. Most of them are clear and white. He says that if we ever want to take any, all we have to do is ask him first. The woman and I go back into the main office, and she asks me if I've always known about the art shop. I say yes because I'd seen the prices and figured there had to be somewhere you could pay for them. I had gone to the shop that first time but it was closed. Our office is also a classroom, and a bunch of students show up to what is supposed to be a lecture from the police boss, who is very late and not coming. The woman tells them that he's delayed because of the fog. One of the students says, "He's always doing that."

Everyone is at home, and it's early in the morning. I'm the only one awake and I go into the living room. There's a woman who lives in this room behind our fireplace, and we can see her. There's a fire going on and all of a sudden this water leak starts spraying inside. The woman starts screaming because she can drown if the water doesn't stop. She has a bunch of stuffed animals with her. I run upstairs to get my dad. As we come back down, I'm skipping over several steps at a time, and jumping over the banister. Rose and her sister are here, and we all leave in the morning to go to school. Rose mentions it being my dad's birthday and I freak out about it because I forgot to tell him and her happy birthday. We're at my grandparents old house and I'm looking around the kitchen for something good to make. My mom arrives with a bunch of groceries, and I ask her if she knows what day it is. She says, "Don't tell me it's your dad's birthday!" as if she also just remembered. Dana and another girl are visiting me at home, and they have a litter of black kittens with them. Dana doesn't want to keep them and I say that if she'll come with me to watch over the cats, I'll drive to the pound. She agrees and gathers them all up in a huge cardboard box. First we stop off at school because we have a class. The other girl and I go to our classroom, where the rest of the students are kindergarteners or first graders. When I get to my seat at the desk, I find a pink coat the little girl before me had left behind. I take it up to another table where "lost" things are kept. The teacher gets annoyed because Dana, who now also has some beta fishes in a plastic baggie, shows up late. I tell her that we need to go ahead and leave, and I will go find Rose. I take this dish I have with me: it's a big glass dish shaped like a U, but the ends are different:

As I'm walking around the school, I realize I don't know her classroom, and think I'll call her on her cell. It turns into Wal-Mart and I run into three scary girls who are looking for Rose, and want her phone number. I tell them it's 438-2215, but that's not it. I realize I have my address/phone book and tell them so, and they take off with it eagerly. Now that they're gone I remember her number is 483-2215. I call her and start screaming at her that they're coming and that she has to get out of the house. It's not even Rose who answers. This professional, calm-sound woman tells me that I need to go home and see Rose. I tell the woman about how my U-shaped dish got ruined, but she says it's still useable and that at least I didn't lose it altogether. I run back into the classroom, where there's only one girl and two government/law enforcement guys (one young, one old) there. I ask them if they've called the police and they say no. I'm at my grandmother's house, only Rose's mom lives there. I talk to her about how Rose is going to be mad at me for both forgetting her birthday, and giving her number to those girls. I sit in the living room and watch TV for awhile, then go into the back room. My grandmother is there but I don't recognize her at first. She's sitting in a wheelchair or motorized chair. The cooler is turned on so high that it's getting cold in the house, and Rose's mom yells for me to turn it down. I'm at this beauty/makeup store and I'm looking around at a bunch of stuff I want. There are some neat lipstick kits with a bunch of colors, and little brushes and things to apply them. Rose and the three evil girls come in, and I ignore them and get in line. In front of me there's a woman with her two young kids, who are paying for stuff they bought at Disneyland. When the girl is done, I get up to the cashier and realize I can't find my purse, so I leave my things at the counter and start searching for it around the store.

I'm hanging out with Henrietta, Amanda, and two of Amanda's friends (one of them is her cousin). It gets to be the evening, and Henrietta and I get separated from the others. We're walking on a city street and stop in at a hamburger shop. The signs and decor are orange and red. Henrietta orders a hamburger to go, and gets in a small, white styrofoam box. We go to her house and she sets it on the kitchen counter, and jumps up into my arms. I twirl her around a few times and ask, "Do you really think I can carry you around like this?" We're walking in a large parking lot with Amanda, who is parked way farther up than us. I put my large, white paper shopping bag into my backseat (I have a small gray/silver car?) and lock it because I'm suspicious of this couple (30's, both dark-haired) nearby. The car is running and I have the headlights on because it's getting dark out. I realize it's 4:00 PM and freak out because I had wanted to go to San Francisco Pride. I want to ask Amanda if I can ride with her and her friends. I ask Henrietta if I can get Amanda's number, and she gives me her cellphone to look it up. I find Amanda's cell phone number, and it's 915-516-1116. I'm at home and call Amanda and ask her about Pride. She's quiet for several minutes and I wonder if she put me on hold without telling me, because I can't hear anything at all. When she comes back on, she tells me about a trip her aunt took to Italy, and that she brought back stuff from Yardley London with her. She asks me if I know that brand and I say in a fake English accent, "Of course I know Yardley London, darling." She says one of the things was a chocolate facial mask, and I say that I love it.

I have a dream about another phone number, but this one only has six numbers: 606-606. When I wake up, I look it up in the phone book and see that it is listed. Sometimes the first "606" is replaced with the word "pop." I decide to call and find out what it is. Later, I'm telling Dana about it, and I'm so upset and crying so hard that I can barely get it out. The woman who had answered at that number was a psychic and I tell Dana, "And then she told me... something terrible was going to happen!"
