| I think it's safe to say that I get carried away |
Every time I've sat down over the last couple weeks to blog, it just never seems to come together in my head. Sorry about that.
I had some misadventures with Betsy the SuperJeep that resulted in the spendage of most of my tax rebate. D'oh. First there was something with a water pump (whatever that is) and the second one involved the fan belt (whatever, and so on). The second thing was kind of freaky because my steering wheel totally locked up and I could barely move it. I don't know if I believe in guardian angels, but I'm certainly very fortunate; it happened just up the street from my office, and not two minutes after I'd gotten off the freeway.
EC's mom is here for a week or so, which is awesome. It would be awesome if EC had come with her, but at least I'll see her twice this year - August and October. Yay!
Yesterday was pretty great. It was the first day this week where I wasn't overloaded with work, and we had an office potluck. There was way too much food, and it was all so good. NK drove all the way to Pleasant Hill to bring us some lumpia and turon, which I haven't had before and am now obsessed with. And when the potluck was over, I got to go home early, sweet!
I've definitely been running on a sleep deficit lately. I meant to go to bed early last night, but got all involved in the Lifetime movie where Jennie Garth is a teacher who is also HIV-positive. Man, I'm so looking forward to the new 90210 show! But anyway, it ended at eleven and I was totally ready to crash... but remembered that I had a washer full of clothes that had to get into the dryer. Ugh!
Then I had to wake up and get ready pretty early this morning to go get my hair cut. It's cute... but short. She straightened it for me and it barely reaches my shoulders, so I'm kind of scared to wash it and see what it will look like normally. This style would have been great a couple weeks ago when it was so hot; yesterday and today have been all gray and blah. Apparently we just can't hit a happy medium around here.
I'm so tempted to go to Bath and Body Works over the weekend. What can I say - I love things that smell nice. Just this week, I got two perfumes from Avon that I've wanted for super days on eBay for pretty cheap: Rare Gold (I found a roll-on one, awesome!) and Rare Pearls. And so the evil part of my brain is telling me that since I "saved" money by buying them that way, that I should go spend some. But I am really proud of myself, I have been saving lots of money in the event of that tiresome rainy day... I just hope it doesn't actually storm. |
