Betsy the SuperJeep is in the shop for a few days (will that car ever be right? sad face), but even if she weren't, I wouldn't be doing much this weekend. I'm buried in piles of laundry and homework - fun stuff like that.
I did end up dropping my psych class before it even started. Paying a hundred dollars for a used book doesn't quite appeal to me, plus, I already know I'm crazy (ha, ha). So far, I still plan to go to my short-term political science class which starts on Tuesday. It starts at 6:00, so I'm thinking I'll stay later at the office and have dinner there before going to school. Neither I nor my pants can afford to keep eating as much fast food as I have been.
My online classes are going well, though the assignments in my opera class have been more of a challenge than I expected. We're reading "The Bonesetter's Daughter," which is pretty amazing. I've never read (or particularly wanted to read) Amy Tan's most famous book, "The Joy Luck Club," but now I'm vaguely tempted to. Creative writing is pretty low-key so far; right now I'm trying to decide which story of mine I'd like to share and really work on through the semester.
Honestly, I haven't been up to anything other than school and work. We had a birthday party at the office last week that was really fun, and then we got a four-day weekend for Labor Day. Plus, my boss pretty much made us drink on Thursday afternoon (not as if there were too many objections to that). No joke; he gave me a bunch of cash and told me to go buy two bottles of wine, some Bud Light, and I also got some divine Smirnoff Ice drinks (Raspberry Burst - yum!)
As it gets closer, I'm becoming more obsessed with my upcoming trip to Las Vegas. I dreamed last night about how it was time to leave, and not only had I not packed yet, but I had no clean pants to take. That actually doesn't sound anything like me; I overplan pretty much any situation. It was good for a laugh, though.
I've decided I definitely want to get a tattoo while I'm out there, and am trying to decide between one of two things: either my birth year in Roman numerals on my right wrist, or a cute little owl on my chest/shoulder, like right outside my bra strap. I'll consider your vote, if you've got feelings about it one way or another!
