Did you ever read the first entry in a blog that wasn't titled in some variation of, well, "First entry"? Yeah, me neither.

I read in another blog the yesterday that the author had heard from someone else (way to cite my sources here, huh?) that the average blog lasts for about two years. There may be some truth to that. My previous blog began in January 2005 and I plan to make the full switch to this one in December. That's closer to not-quite-three years, but I've been wanting to make the move for awhile. So there.

Not to seem like one of those obnoxious "Heard of it first" people, but I did have a blog before there were blogs. In the latter half of my high school years, I had an online "journal." Not on LiveJournal or whatever online diary thing it was that came first; just on my own website (not my own domain, though) with no comments and, to be honest, almost no readers. It was a quite pathetic collection of writings, and hopefully any traces of it are long gone from the web.

My main concern with this new site is that I'm losing visitors/readers, because I know I actually have (had?) some now. Many of them are nice enough to comment once in awhile, as I hope you will, but I'm sure there are some lurkers. That's okay; just as long as they're not stalkers.

Of course, another option would have been to just redo my old blog and domain - you know, totally delete it and start over. I considered that, but I was pretty sick of the old name, too. As I was telling an online friend, I'll probably get bored with "Saint Starlet" around 2009, and move yet again.

Regarding the name: I only thought of it after being miffed that some jackass was auctioning off the really great domain name of saintsinner.com for $800. Eight hundred? It's cool, but not that cool. And I'm currently broke-ish. At least, at the time of writing this entry; by the time any of you read this, I will be pretty well established in my awesome new job that starts in a little less than two weeks.

Speaking of my new job - which involves cooking - I've got to go check on something in the oven. Assuming that nothing catastrophic has happened to it, I'm going to hop over to my Food and Cooking Blog and write about it!
